Christine A Sorkness, PharmD, RPh

Background: Christine came to the UW School of Pharmacy in 1979 after serving as a faculty member at the State University of New York-Buffalo. She is a clinical investigator with the UW Allergy, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Division, Director of Clinical Research for the Morris Institute of Respiratory Research, and Director of the Anticoagulation Clinic at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital. She serves as a preceptor for the ASHP-accreditated Primary Care Pharmacy Residency at Veterans Hospital, the ASHP Research and Education Foundation Antithrombotic Therapy Training Program, and elective ambulatory clerkships. Dr. Sorkness serves as co-investigator for several research protocols evaluating the efficacy, safety, and prediction of response of therapeutic agents for asthma and allergic diseases. Dr. Sorkness is an investigator with the NHLBI-funded Asthma Clinical Research Network and the Childhood Asthma Research and Education Network and the NIAID-funded Inner-City Asthma Consortium. She is the Senior Associate Director of the University of Wisconsin Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, which houses the Clinical and Translational Service Award from NIRR.
