Dr. Voorheis’ research focuses on integrating behavioral science and human-centered design to improve how digital health innovations are developed, implemented, and experienced by patients and healthcare providers. Her work explores how the design of digital health innovations can support behavior change and improve patient–provider interactions within complex health systems.

She uses mixed methods research, with an emphasis on co-design and developmental evaluation, to ensure digital health innovations are continuously shaped by real-world needs. Her work spans early-stage user research, participatory design with stakeholders, and iterative testing to refine digital solutions in complex care environments.
